Santa Monica, CA – Streetgang Films, a music video production company, has announced that its director Paul Minor has completed a new music video from James Blunt, one of the most successful recording artists in the world. Jason Botkin, Streetgang’s Executive Producer, made the announcement.
James Blunt sold 6 million albums during 2005, more albums sold in such a sort time than any UK artist in 20 years.
Entitled “Wise Men,” the new James Blunt video, from Atlantic Records UK, can be viewed at the Streetgang Films website.
The video was shot in one long night at Black Park, a forested area northeast of London, near the famous Pinewood studios. The video begins with James Blunt driving along a country road at dusk, and he then pulls over into a forested clearing and exits the car with papers in hand. Blunt makes a small fire with documents from his past -- his passport, his military discharge papers, etc. Cleansed of his past, he then walks through the forest singing to camera.
During his walk, Blunt slowly starts to smoke, like the documents he just burned. The smoke turns to fire, and suddenly he is engulfed in flames. Covered in fire, Blunt continues along his journey, singing to camera, unfazed. He comes upon a country farmhouse, and sees that one window in the corner of the house is lit up. Blunt stops and stares at the window, then turns and leaves, as the light is turned off. Now that he has found true closure, Blunt returns to the forest, to finish his metaphoric journey.
The special effect of the spontaneous human combustion was achieved partly by a London based stunt team. Blunt himself did participate in some of the other stunts. The rest was accomplished by the San Francisco effects company Giant Killer Robot, a company that specializes in fire effects (i.e. the “Human Torch” character in the film “The Fantastic Four.”)

i checked out the video and it is definitely not what is described above. i thought i understood the song until i saw the video- it is completely not what i thought and now i am confused- check it out and let me know what you think
